Expert summary
Guitar Hero 3 is the latest release in the highly successful Guitar Hero video game series. The game features the use of a plastic guitar shaped controller which simulates real guitar play via several buttons along the fret board. The series was originally developed by Harmonix Music Systems from 2005 to 2007 when it was transfered to Neversoft Entertainment who produced Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. The game has been released on PC and platforms of all three major gaming companies: Nintendo Wii and DS, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 2 and 3. The player must strum while holding the appropriate button and must do so in timing with the notes that scroll passed on the screen. It can be played alone or in co-op mode.
